Iran Implicated in Attack on Saudi Arabian Oil Facilities

(New York, N.Y.) – Iran was implicated by U.S. officials for Saturday’s attack on Saudi Arabian oil facilities, initially claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Iran was behind “an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply” as President Donald Trump warned that he was prepared to take military action.

UANI Chairman Senator Joseph I. Lieberman and CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace said, “The outrageous attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure this weekend reveal the true nature of the Iranian regime. Tehran thinks it can terrorize the international community into submission. The United States and its allies should use the opening of the United Nations General Assembly as a platform to mobilize a coalition to prove the regime wrong. As a first step, Iranian President Rouhani and Foreign Minister Zarif should be declared personae non grata while in New York and the French credit-line initiative should be immediately scrapped.”
