Aegis Electronic Group

OFAC alleged that Aegis, a U.S. distributor of industrial imaging products, including cameras, monitors, and related control units, violated the ITR by its unlicensed sale and export of camera control units to Austria with knowledge that the items were intended for re-export to Iran.

Acteon Group Ltd.

Acteon’s US investor-parent KKR & Co, violated ISTR on three occasions. Acteon subsidiary, Seatronics, rented or sold equipment to customers that used it on vessels in Iranian territorial waters while KKR-affiliated investment funds owned a majority stake in Acteon. KKR’s majority holdings in Acteon conferred U.S. jurisdiction over Acteon and its subsidiaries’ Iran-related activities and allowed OFAC to penalize Acteon and KKR.

ABN AMRO BANK (now known as Royal Bank of Scotland)

ABN AMRO participated in transactions that violated Iranian and Libyan sanctions. Between December 2001 and April 2004, ABN AMRO’s overseas branches removed or revised references to entities in which the Governments of Libya and Iran had an interest before forwarding wire transfers, letters of credit, and U.S. dollar checks to ABN AMRO branches in New York, NY and Chicago, IL.

On June 27, 2008, Aban’s Singapore subsidiary placed an order for oil rig supplies from a vendor in the United States with the intended purpose of re-exporting these supplies from the United Arab Emirates to a jack-up oil drilling rig located in the South Pars Gas Fields in Iranian territorial waters.
