UANI Welcomes Former Senator Joseph Lieberman to Advisory Board

New York, NY - Today, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) announced that former U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman has joined UANI's advisory board.

Last week, Senator Lieberman joined UANI officials in sending a letter to President Obama and Congress requesting that Congress take up debate on the principles that ought to underpin a nuclear agreement with Iran.

Regarding Senator Lieberman's new role with UANI, Ambassador Wallace said:

It is an absolute honor to welcome Senator Lieberman to UANI's board. Senator Lieberman is widely and deservedly admired for his integrity, and for his commitment to America's national security.

Senator Lieberman is a statesman in every sense of the word, and we are excited to work with him to address the serious danger posed by Iran's nuclear program.

Senator Lieberman currently serves as senior Counsel at the law firm of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres, and Friedman in New York

For 24 years, he served in the U.S. Senate from Connecticut, holding positions such as Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee.

Before his 1988 election to the U.S. Senate, Senator Lieberman served 10 years in the Connecticut State Senate and 6 years as Connecticut's Attorney General. In 2000, he was the Democratic candidate for Vice President of the United States.
