UANI Statement on French Decision to Restrict Diplomat Travel to Iran

United Against Nuclear Iran President David Ibsen today released the following statement regarding the French foreign ministry decision to restrict all non-essential travel by French officials to Iran:

“United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) applauds the decision by France’s foreign ministry to restrict travel by French officials to Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. The Macron government should further protest the Iranian regime’s unacceptable behavior – specifically its foiled plan to bomb a conference in Paris – by urging remaining French businesses to immediately exit the country.

“If Iran is not a safe and suitable place for government workers then it is also unsuitable for French civilian business leaders and their employees. In France unlike Iran, people are free to assemble to express their political opinions – even if those opinions are objectionable to Iran’s leaders. Iran’s brazen attempts to target and intimidate its critics and enemies in France and other European countries should be met by diplomatic outrage and economic isolation. European economic and political policy cannot be held hostage by Iranian terror networks. French action should be emulated by responsible governments across Europe and elsewhere.”
