UANI Joins the "Responsibility to Prevent" Coalition

New York, NY United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) today joined the "Responsibility to Prevent" Coalition, and signed the international petition entitled "The Danger of a Nuclear, Genocidal and Rights-Violating Iran: The Responsibility to Prevent Petition."

The petition is endorsed by international law scholars, human rights defenders, experts in genocide, and a distinguished group of Iranian scholars, and the objective of the coalition and the petition is to hold Ahmadinejad's Iran to account for its brutal and illegal actions.  UANI applauds the efforts and initiative of these leaders.  UANI President Ambassador Mark D. Wallace has signed the petition, and UANI has joined the Coalition as a supporting NGO.

Referring to the coalition, UANI President, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace said: "Over a year has passed since the fraudulent elections of June 12, 2009, and despite the cries for a change in leadership, the Iranian regime continues to violate brutally the human rights of its own people, reject its obligations to the U.N. and persist in developing illegal nuclear weapons.  If we have learned anything in the past year since the cries of the Iranian people were first heard, it is that we must prevent Iran from continuing its unbridled violation of human rights and its unlawful pursuit of a nuclear weapon."
