UANI Stands with Masih Alnejad

(Washington, D.C.) — United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) applauds the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for taking action to investigate, arrest and prosecute an Iranian intelligence cell in the United States that was planning on kidnapping Masih Alinejad and returning her to Iran.

“We applaud the FBI and DOJ for this action. Iran’s intelligence service has operated throughout the diaspora and against Iran’s critics for years. Iran’s intelligence service has planned assassinations and kidnappings before, and they will continue to do so. This Iranian leopard cannot change its spots. The plot to kidnap Masih Alinejad is a stark and telling reminder of the brutality of this regime that purports to be negotiating in good faith in Vienna. Iran’s negotiators in Vienna absurdly feign ignorance of this, the real Iran. Today we stand with Masih Alinejad. We stand with all Iranians that speak against the regime inside Iran and in the diaspora each and every day,” said UANI CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace.

“We condemn in the harshest terms the brutal Iranian regime. The action today is a reminder of the willingness of the regime to do anything – including on American soil – to silence its critics. We applaud U.S. law enforcement for taking this action and preventing Iran from harming Masih Alinejad,” said UANI Chairman Senator Joseph I. Lieberman.
