UANI Applauds Efforts to Bring Credit Suisse to Justice, Calls on Banks to Cease Doing Business in Iran

New York, NY - UANI applauds the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Reserve for enforcing sanctions against Credit Suisse.  It has been reported that Credit Suisse will pay a fine of $536 million for purposely violating Iran sanctions, conducting business with Iranian banks, and facilitating transfers for Iranian proliferators of weapons of mass destruction, including the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the Aerospace Industries Organization.

In a statement, UANI President Ambassador Mark D. Wallace said of the settlement: "It is time to enforce Iran sanctions and this action sends a clear message to those businesses that continue to do business in Iran - do business in Iran at your legal peril.  UANI applauds the efforts of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, the U.S. Justice Department, and the Federal Reserve that brought Credit Suisse to justice.  We call on all banks and other companies to stop doing business in Iran.  Iran business is perilous from an investment perspective, from a law enforcement perspective, and from a national security perspective."

UANI calls on Credit Suisse and all banks to sign UANI's Iran Business Declaration and affirm that they do not conduct business in Iran and will not engage in business in Iran until the Iranian regime gives up its nuclear weapons program.
