(New York, N.Y.) – Tomorrow, August 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. EDT, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) will host a webinar with Brian Hook, U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Senior Advisor to Secretary Pompeo, UANI Senior Advisor and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and UANI Senior Advisor and former U.S. National Intelligence Manager for Iran Norman Roule to explore the dangers of allowing the U.N. arms embargo to expire. The webinar will also examine Iran’s role in supporting proxy militia forces as a part of its global terror campaign and U.S. strategy on Iran at the United Nations.

As a part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the arms embargo imposed on Iran under U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231 will expire on October 18, 2020. The supply, sale, or transfer of any battle tanks, armored combat vehicles, large caliber artillery systems, combat aircraft, attack helicopters, warships, missiles, or missile systems to Iran will no longer require U.N. Security Council approval should the embargo sunset. Restrictions on arms transfers from Iran will also end under Resolution 2231.
