Statement
by UANI President, Ambassador Mark D.
Wallace, on the Manhattan District Attorney's Indictment of Iran
Shipping Lines
New York,
New York - United Against Nuclear
Iran (UANI) today
applauded Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. for his indictment of the
Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping
Lines (IRISL) and 15 other defendants involved in Iran's
efforts to
illegally funnel money through U.S. clearing banks. UANI has
previously
called on international shipping companies to stop their business in
Iran given
the regime's deceptive shipping and
business practices.
United Against
Nuclear Iran
President, Ambassador Mark Wallace, issued the following statement:
This indictment
further highlights Iran's deceptive
shipping and business practices, and is all the more reason why
shipping
companies around the world should immediately stop doing business with
Iran.
The regime has once again shown how far it will go to deceive
the world
and violate sanctions as it continues to obtain technology and supplies
for its
illegal nuclear weapons program.
UANI applauds
District Attorney
Vance for his diligence in enforcing the law, and urges other District
Attorneys in America to prosecute companies in their jurisdictions who
continue
doing business in Iran.
