One Year After Soleimani’s Death, Iranian Terror Campaign Continues In Iraq

(New York, N.Y.) – Sunday, January 3, 2021, marks the one-year-anniversary of the death of Major General Qassem Soleimani. Soleimani served as commander of Iran’s  Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, which oversees and carries out intelligence operations, terrorist plots, and unconventional warfare outside of Iran. Soleimani was killed in a U.S. airstrike near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq. In the wake of his death, fissures have developed among Iran-backed militias in Iraq as terror and disruption continues to plague U.S. personnel and Iraqi civilians.

United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) maintains a profile, Major General Qassem Soleimani: Former IRGC-Quds Force Commander, that chronicles Soleimani’s life and outlines his role of exporting the ideologies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. UANI also outlines Iran’s influence in the region and the stronghold that Tehran possesses in Iraq through the work of Qassem Soleimani in its resource, Iran’s Proxy Wars: Iraq. UANI has also analyzed the careers of the current leadership of the Quds Force, including its new Commander Esmail Ghaani and Deputy Commander Mohammad Hejazi.
