Eye on Iran's Protests - April 6, 2023
Large-scale anti-regime protests spread across Iran in the past week and converged in the capital, Tehran. The regime’s leadership, however, remains brutal and intransigent. Over 500 Iranian protesters have been killed. Countless others have been blinded, raped, poisoned, and tortured. Khamenei is doubling down, recently declaring that not wearing the hijab is “legally and religiously forbidden.” Another string of poisonings targeted young schoolgirls.

A large group of citizens in Tehran gathered outside the house of Hamidreza Rouhi, a victim of regime security forces, on his birthday anniversary, chanting slogans against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the Islamic Republic.

Its mission is to connect the American Jewish community with the Iranian diaspora to support their efforts to amplify the voices, vision, and dreams of the Iranian people in Western capitals. UANI’s Chairman Senator Joe Lieberman, UANI’s CEO Ambassador Mark Wallace, and UANI’s Policy Director Jason Brodsky are among the participants in this initiative.
Twenty Iranian schoolgirls were poisoned and transferred to a hospital in the northwestern city of Tabriz.
Toomaj Salehi's family expressed concern for his health after footage released by state media purportedly showed the rapper blindfolded, with bruises on his face, apologizing for his support of the protests. Toomaj is a famous Iranian rapper who was arrested in the nation-wide crackdown on protesters in the Women, Life, Freedom movement.
Protesters chanted “Khamenei we’re going to burn you. We’re going to burn you just like this,” as they burned an Islamic Republic flag.
Iran Regime Keeps Sealing Shops, Malls in which the Hijab is Not Observed | Iran International
Dozens of shops and malls in which Iranian women continue to flout the regime’s mandatory hijab rules have been closed down across Iran with dozens more women arrested. As the regime fights a losing battle against the wave of women bravely participating in a nationwide hijab rebellion, the tide against oppression continues. In Kashan, Esfahan (Isfahan) province, Karim Ahmadi, an IRGC commander, said more than 40 shops have been shut down for their customers not complying with Islamic dress code. Meanwhile, upon the order of the city prosecutor, Kashan Mall, the largest commercial and tourism center of the city has also been sealed for mass breaking of the compulsory hijab rule
