Environmental Mismanagement Continues In Iran
(New York, N.Y.) – Today, the international community celebrates Earth Day to recognize and recommit to protecting the planet’s biodiversity and natural resources. As communities worldwide mark this event, however, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues its abysmal track record of environmental mismanagement and stifles innovation by its citizens, scientists, and researchers to improve Iran’s natural resources and the preservation of the environment.
United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI)’s resource, Iran’s War On The Environment And Environmentalists, emphasizes the Iranian regime’s disregard for the environment and suppression of environmentalists. Over the years, numerous environmental experts and activists have warned that the regime’s mishandling of water resources and agricultural and industrial malpractice have set the nation on an unsustainable, calamitous path. Rather than responding to protesters, activists, and experts by changing its harmful policies, the Iranian regime has repressed those communities.
As climate change, environmental mismanagement, and corruption continue to take a toll on Iran’s environment, the Iranian regime is likely to face growing protests and subversive activities, particularly from those hit hardest in peripheral communities, which also face the worst ethnic, political, and economic discrimination in the country.
