In Case You Missed It: UANI's Warwick Protest Featured on CNN
"You Have to Have Some Standards for who You will Play Host to."
September 24, 2012
CAROL COSTELLO, CNN: Our next guest is leading protest against Ahmadinejad, even targeting the posh hotel where Ahmadinejad is staying. Nathan Carleton is a spokesman for the group, "United Against Nuclear Iran." ... What do you plan?
NATHAN CARLETON, UNITED AGAINST NUCLEAR IRAN: We are at the Warwick Hotel here in Midtown, both inside and outside. And the first point is we are showing Mr. Ahmadinejad that he is not welcome here in New York City.
This is a person who has called 9/11 a big lie. He is the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism. His country has killed many Americans. We just don't think it is appropriate for him to come to New York and expect to be treated well.
But also as far as the Warwick, we just don't think it is responsible for a private business to
be rolling out the red carpet for him. If he wants to come to New York that's fine, he can speak at the U.N., but he should stay at his country's mission to the U.N. and it's a shame that a hotel would accommodate him. ...
You have to have some standards for who you will play host to and by hosting Ahmadinejad, they are creating a security nightmare in New York. Unfortunately, it is NYPD and U.S. Secret Service who have to guard him at taxpayer expense.
