Mark Wallace to Testify Before Congress
on
United Nations Reform
Washington, DC - UANI President Ambassador Mark D. Wallace
will offer
testimony tomorrow, March 3, 2011, before the U.S. House of
Representatives
Committee on Foreign Affairs at a hearing on UN reform entitled "Reforming the United
Nations - Lessons Learned."
Ambassador Wallace has been invited as the lead witness based on his
experience
serving as the U.S. Representative to the United Nations for Management
and
Reform between 2006 - 2008.
During his tenure at
the United
Nations, Ambassador Wallace launched the UN Transparency and
Accountability Initiative,
directed at reforming eight areas related to member states' access to
UN
financial documents, ethics, financial disclosure, oversight
mechanisms,
accounting standards and administrative overhead.
