Jason Brodsky: "Trump And EU Have The Opportunity To Bring Down The Islamic Republic In Iran"

Donald Trump and the European Union have a unique opportunity to bring down the Islamic Republic of Iran. They must be allies in this goal. The Iranian nuclear diplomacy has so far brought numerous disadvantages to the United States, but also to the EU. We must start to accept the reality: we will never be able to reach a sustainable diplomatic nuclear deal with Iran as long as the Islamic Republic exists." Jason Brodsky is an analyst with the Middle East Institute’s Iran program and policy director for United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), an American nonprofit whose stated goal is “to prevent Iran from realizing its ambition to become a regional nuclear-armed superpower.” In this capacity, he served as an advisor to former Democratic U.S. Senator Joseph I. Lieberman and is an advisor to former U.S. Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, CEO and founder of UANI. For UANI, he co-authored a plan, released in January, to reshape U.S. policy on Iran during the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s administration. The plan was delivered to the Trump administration and is influencing Trump’s “maximum pressure” strategy on Iran, outlined in the “Presidential Memorandum on National Security,” released February 4.
