"A few weeks ago, U.S. President Donald Trump's administration imposed a new round of sanctions on oil brokers, vessels and people it believed were linked to the illegal supply of Iranian crude oil, describing the move as a return to a strategy of “maximum pressure” to squeeze the country's economy. According to the non-profit organization United Against Nuclear Iran, Iran transported 587 million barrels of oil in 2024, and at least 91% of them went to China."
