Chinese terminals and teapot sanctioned as US increasingly targets buyers of Iranian oil

According to US monitoring group United Against Nuclear Iran, Xinhai imported more than 3.3m barrels of Iranian oil since 2023. The Shandong refinery is the third teapot sanctioned by the US since “maximum pressure” was reintroduced by the Trump administration.
