UANI Expands Ghost Armada List with 14 Additional Tankers

(New York, NY)—United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) has identified 14 additional tankers engaged in the illicit transportation of Iranian oil and petroleum products. Therefore, UANI has added them to its list of Ghost Armada vessels evading American sanctions against Iran’s regime.

The newly listed vessels are: MUSIK (IMO 9305051), YULIN (IMO 9231224), INDIGO RAY (IMO 9216705), ZIXUAN (IMO 9317298), AREIA (IMO 9321847), GRACEP (IMO 9252967), YEHOPE (IMO 9243320), STAR PIONE (IMO 9389019), BANGUS (IMO 9308998), NIRETA (IMO 9237785), AVA 6 (IMO 9226140), LORIAN (IMO 9259343), TEJAS (IMO 9326067), and RANGVER (IMO 9281425).

UANI’s CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace said:

“These vessels exhibit hallmark indicators of sanctions evasion, including AIS manipulation, opaque ownership structures, frequent name and flag changes, and participation in ship-to-ship (STS) transfers intended to obscure the origin of Iranian crude.

“Ghost Armada vessels – including those listed above – alongside Iran-flagged National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) tankers continue to enable Iran’s oil trade to China. Although the U.S. blockade has significantly restricted Iran’s oil exports since April 13, revenues generated through these illicit shipments directly fund Tehran’s missile and drone programs, as well as their destabilising activities across the region.

“As Iran expands its ghost fleet, coordinated international enforcement is more urgent than ever. UANI calls on governments, flag states, port authorities, insurers, and the global maritime industry to take immediate action to deny these vessels access to services, ports, and financial systems.”

The updated Ghost Armada list is available here and will continue to expand as UANI tracks additional tankers smuggling sanctioned Iranian oil.
