UANI Applauds President Trump’s New Sanctions on Iran’s Dark Fleet

UANI Originally Identified Seven of Nine Vessels as Evading U.S. Sanctions

(New York, NY)–United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) released the following statement after President Trump and his administration designated nine vessels involved in Iran's illicit oil trade as part of its most recent sanctions package on January 23, 2026.

“UANI applauds President Trump and his administration for sanctioning these vessels. Seven of these nine tankers were previously included on UANI's Ghost Armada list for their involvement in the transportation of Iranian oil—AL DIAB II (IMO 9053816), AQUA SPIRIT (IMO 9197727), AVON (IMO 9034705), EASTERN HERO (IMO 9353905), KEEL (IMO 9176929), LONGEVITY 7 (IMO 9240885), and SEA BIRD (IMO 9088536).

“The Trump administration is not only targeting Iran's illicit oil network through these designations but also demonstrating bold global sanctions enforcement through recent shadow fleet vessel seizures. UANI urges the Trump administration to continue its efforts to drive Iran's oil exports down to zero. The Iranian regime’s oil trade remains its primary financial lifeline, bankrolling its nuclear and missile programs while sustaining the brutal security forces that have violently suppressed recent protests, resulting in thousands and thousands of deaths.”
