UANI Applauds President Trump and U.S. State and Treasury Departments for Targeting Iran Regime Sanctions Evaders
(New York, NY) – United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) Chairman Governor Jeb Bush and CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace released the following statement after the Trump administration levied sanctions today on individuals and entities facilitating the illicit Iranian oil trade:
“We applaud President Trump and the U.S. State and Treasury Departments for today’s decisive action targeting a network of sanctions evaders facilitating the transport of Iranian oil. Ten of the twelve vessels sanctioned today first appeared on UANI’s Ghost Armada list. This move represents a critical step in upholding the integrity of U.S. sanctions and disrupting the Islamic Republic of Iran’s illicit revenue streams.
“Iran’s oil revenues have long underwritten the regime’s destabilizing activities — from funding its nuclear ambitions and expanding its ballistic missile and drone programs, to fueling terrorist proxies across the Middle East. By enforcing sanctions against those complicit in enabling this trade, the administration is sending a clear message: the United States will not tolerate efforts that endanger global security and empower the world’s foremost state-sponsor of terrorism.
“Following the devastating U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran’s key nuclear enrichment sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, the regime has made it clear it has no intention of backing down on its dangerous nuclear ambitions. Today’s action sends an unmistakable message to the regime that maximum pressure is back and that the Trump administration will counter efforts by Tehran to rebuild its nuclear and military programs.”
