UANI Applauds New U.S. Sanctions on Iran’s Illicit Oil Exports
UANI Previously Called for Sanctions on Vessels and Teapot Refinery Designated This Week and Applauds Sanctions on the Muhandis General Company
(New York, NY) – Today, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace released the following statement applauding President Trump and his administration for sanctioning of around 100 individuals, entities, and vessels that facilitate Iranian oil and liquefied petroleum gas sales and shipments:
“UANI applauds President Trump and the State and Treasury Departments for sanctioning this latest tranche of individuals, entities, and vessels which are evading U.S. sanctions on Iran.”
In this week’s designations, 14 vessels which first appeared on UANI’s Ghost Armada list were sanctioned. They include PAMIR, GAS ZEINA, MADESTAR, SULLANA, PURDUE STELLAR, SIREN II, VOY, SONA, PK MARIT, TRIMA, PK PHOENIX, WORLD PROGRESS, WORLD PERFORMANCE, and LOANNA.
Additionally, UANI had previously identified Chinese teapot refiner Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. as a significant importer of U.S.-sanctioned Iranian oil. UANI wrote to the company in May 2025, warning them of the likelihood of U.S. sanctions and urging their halting of imports. Shandong Jincheng nonetheless continued its illicit purchases, resulting in this week’s sanctions actions against it.
UANI also wrote in May 2019 to two Indian petrochemical companies that were designated in this week’s package—CJ Shah and BK Sales—warning of the severe risks in dealing with sanctioned Iranian oil and oil products.
Separately, the U.S. government sanctioned Muhandis General Company for Construction, Engineering, Mechanical, Agricultural, and Industrial Contracting (Muhandis Company), an Iraqi construction conglomerate with deep ties to the Iranian regime.
Ambassador Wallace added:
“It is well-understood that the Iranian regime uses Iraq-based entities to threaten U.S. forces and endanger Americans. The Iranian regime has long aspired for the Muhandis General Company, in particular, to become the Iraqi analog of the IRGC’s notorious Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters (KAA). This sanctions designation will be a force multiplier in depriving the Iran-backed militias of financial resources.
“These sanctions are critical to countering Iran’s regime’s efforts to rebuild its military and nuclear facilities after the 12-Day War. With the reimposition of U.N. snapback sanctions last month, the Trump administration and U.S. allies should act to ensure that all the vessels on UANI’s Ghost Armada list are sanctioned and that evaders of these sanctions are held accountable.”
