ICYMI: UANI, In Partnership with NATO Countries, Unveils an Iran Regime Shahed-136 Drone at the United Nations

(New York, NY) – United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), in partnership with NATO member-states, held a special event on the sidelines of the U.N. Security Council meeting on Ukraine to unveil an Iran regime Shahed-136 drone on Monday, February 24. This powerful display took place at the Millennium Hilton Hotel, which hosts the Iranian delegation when they visit the United Nations for the opening of the General Assembly every September.

Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, CEO of UANI, said: "Thank you to every nation represented here tonight—especially our steadfast allies in Poland and Ukraine. Your unwavering commitment to exposing Iran’s terror apparatus and holding its regime accountable for the use of the Shahed-136 weapon of mass destruction is essential in our united effort to secure a safer world. Together, we stand as a powerful force against the proliferation of such deadly technology."

Radek Sikorski, Foreign Minister of Poland, in his keynote remarks, said: 

“Iran cannot escape responsibility for exporting thousands of [drones] to Ukraine, to Russia, and causing thousands of people to lose their lives and homes to this weapon…Iran lies and Iran is guilty and Iran cannot expect our sympathy when we take measures to prevent this threat from occurring in the future.”

The event brought together a diverse group of NATO countries and allied nations, with representatives from Croatia, Czechia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and the United States. This broad international participation highlighted the collective resolve of the U.S. and its allies and partners to hold Iran’s regime accountable for its proliferation of arms.

The New York event followed a hugely successful event and major announcement at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last week. On Friday, February 21, CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp and UANI CEO Ambassador Mark Wallace announced the planning and development of the first-ever “CPAC for Iranians in Exile.”
