U.S.-Iranian Talks Are Still Expected After Gulf Flare-Ups

For a few hours Tuesday, two Iranian provocations against the U.S. raised questions as to whether nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington could be derailed. But negotiations are still expected this week, U.S. officials say . . . Hard-liners, however, are taking a risk by gambling that the U.S. might not be resolved to deliver a heavy blow, said [UANI Senior Advisor] Saeid Golkar, associate professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an expert on Iran’s security services. “It’s the usual bullying tactics,” Golkar said. “But if you light up a matchbox, you end up being burned.”
