“Iran’s regime will be watching the capture of Maduro very closely as President Trump threatened the supreme leader during the 12-day war. This historic operation adds to the perception of President Trump being unpredictable and risk-ready, which inspires fear in U.S. adversaries and bolsters the credibility of the threat of American military force. This strengthens U.S. deterrence,” Jason Brodsky, policy director at U.S.-based advocacy organization United Against Nuclear Iran, told Haaretz. “As the vice president tweeted today with respect to Maduro, ‘President Trump means what he says.’ With President Trump on Truth Social threatening the Iranian regime with consequences if it kills protesters, this will only add to the angst of the Islamic Republic,” he added.
