Combatting New Forms of Extremism—UANI Written Evidence

Written evidence submitted by United Against Nuclear Iran (COM0033): The Islamic Republic of Iran is increasingly posing a significant and worsening threat to British security. Since the start of 2022, the UK has responded to at least 20 Iran-backed plots, many of which presented potentially lethal risks to British citizens and residents. These threats are not isolated incidents but form part of a deliberate strategy by the Iranian regime to target and suppress opposition, particularly targeting Iranian dissidents, journalists, and the Jewish community in the UK.
