They told the inquiry: “The IRGC has significantly intensified its terrorism activities globally and within the UK. This surge manifests in three interconnected forms: direct terrorist operations, proxy warfare through affiliated groups, and radicalisation efforts aimed at cultivating homegrown Islamist extremists. The IRGC actively promotes radicalisation and Shia Islamist extremist ideology within the UK. Through a network of charities, cultural centres, mosques and student associations, the IRGC disseminates Shia Islamist extremist narratives that glorify violence, antisemitism and anti-Western sentiment.”
