Description

"Seyed Morteza Mousavi [is] Deputy Head of the Judicial Administration in Mazandaran Province."1

Mousavi has reportedly served as deputy head of the Judicial Administration in Mazandaran Province since 2013. Throughout that time, he has also served as judge at the province's Special Court for Article 49. That court (with him presiding) issued a 2019 order confiscating the property of the Baha'is of the village of Ivel, On 4 November 2019, Mazandaran’s Special Court for Article 49 presided by Seyed Morteza Musavi, ordered the properties of the Baha’is of Ivel, including 10 hectares of land and 5000 square meters of building be confiscated for the benefit of the Executive Headquarters of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO).2

In 2013, EIKO was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department, which called the organization "a major network of front companies controlled by Iran’s leadership." Treasury added, "The purpose of this network is to generate and control massive, off-the-books investments, shielded from the view of the Iranian people and international regulators."3

Mousavi also reportedly has served as deputy of Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of Mazandaran Province's Judicial Administration since 2016, and served as head of Judicial Administration for Sari, the provincial capital, from 2011 to 2013.4
