Description

"The Cyber Defence Command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (CDC) monitors websites, e-mails and online activities of individuals deemed to be political opponents. During the September 2022 protests in Iran, the CDC took an active role in the Iranian government’s repressive policies, including by identifying and arresting protesters. The CDC is directly responsible for serious human rights violations in Iran."1

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Cyber Defence Command is an involved person within the meaning of the Iran (Sanctions) (Human Rights) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 as it is or has been involved in the commission of serious human rights violations in Iran, including being responsible for, engaging in and promoting violations of the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly."2 

"Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Cyber Defence Command, the cyber intelligence organisation of the IRGC. Its role includes the monitoring and prosecuting of cybercrimes and 'tracking insult or defamation of revolutionary values.'"3
