UANI Applauds President Trump's Decisive Action Against the Houthis
(New York, NY) – United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) Chairman Governor Jeb Bush and CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace released the following statement today after President Trump authorized broad military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.
“We applaud President Trump’s decisive military operation against the Houthis in Yemen tonight. Not only will the United States target Houthi capabilities, but President Trump has made clear that the United States will take action to target the Houthis' terrorist leadership. Such action is long overdue.
“Further, President Trump issued a strong warning to the Iranian regime, the Houthis' state-sponsor. Today's action helps to restore a credible military threat against Tehran which has been absent for far too long. That absence of deterrence has made the region much more volatile and dangerous because of an unchecked Iran. We encourage President Trump to include the targeting of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities on Iranian soil which resource the Houthis. Such targets should include ports which ship weapons to the Houthis as well as Quds Force bases which train the Houthis.”
UANI recommended action against the Houthis in its proposed action plan for President Trump’s first 100 days in office.
