NATHAN CARLETON, UANI: ... I don't think it's going to make a big difference. The problem in Iran is not that people need phones, or need this technology. The problem in Iran is that the regime controls all the technology and all the networks. Four years ago you saw people trying to organize, trying to protest. The regime found out where they were, they tracked them down, they arrested them, and in some cases they killed them. I think that is exactly what they have planned this time, too.
MICHELLE CARUSO-CABRERA, CNBC: Would you say that the government shouldn't do this?
CARLETON: I think they should do more. ... It might be a helpful thing but I don't think it's going to make a big difference with this election.
CARUSO-CABRERA: What should be done instead?
CARLETON: The U.S. should go after Western companies that are working with the regime, selling them tracking equipment, and in some cases even giving the regime data on the protesters. That's very shameful activity, and those companies shouldn't be able to do business in the U.S.
