ICYMI: Launch of UANI Veterans Advisory Council

New York, NY - On Veterans Day, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) unveiled its new Veterans Advisory Council, led by distinguished retired service members Captain Pete HegsethCaptain Michael Pregent and Staff Sergeant Robert Bartlett. The Council will help educate corporate leaders and policymakers about the dangers of doing business with Iran as it relates to the regime's support for terrorists who target U.S. servicemen around the world.

On November 10, Staff Sergeant Bartlett authored an op-ed in The Hill detailing his personal experience being injured by an Iranian improvised explosive device (IED) while on patrol in Iraq.

On November 11, the New York Post featured the work of the Council and the voices it represents within the broader conversation on the likely direction of relations with Iran in the incoming Trump administration. UANI President David Ibsen was also interviewed on SiriusXM Radio by Tim Farley on the initiative.

On November 13, Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends highlighted UANI's work, and broadcast an interview between Captain Hegseth and Staff Sergeant Bartletton Iran's role in the region in the aftermath of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

And on November 15, UANI's Captain Michael Pregent participated in a debate on CNN International on U.S. Iran policy.

UANI is urging more than 50 leading global businesses to sign an "Iran Business Declaration" (IBD), which outlines a commitment to avoid the plethora of financial, legal and reputational risks attached to Iranian business ventures; documents Iran's history of supporting terrorists; and highlights recent public polling, which shows that 60 percent of U.S. likely voters would stop buying products from a company if it did business in Iran and 56 percent would feel compelled to sell their stock in a company if it invested in Iran.

Led by a group of former leading diplomats and lawmakers, UANI is in the midst of a global education campaign focused on the corporate risks of doing business with Iran, warning hundreds of international companies that are contemplating Iran as a new investment opportunity. As part of its campaign to highlight the dangers of business with the Iranian regime, UANI has identified a matrix of 10 key risk categories businesses and sovereign states face should they pursue deals with Tehran.
