Iran Air renews the agreement for another 3 years at Arlanda and Gothenburg Airport.  Aviator is very pleased about the good cooperation and confidence that Iran Air has given us in the renewed contract. (Aviatior Website 2016).

"With the advent of escalating US-Iran tensions, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked Indian airlines to steer clear of airspace around Iran, Iraq, Gulf of Oman and waters of the Persian Gulf. 'In light of the tensions within the Iranian airspace, a decision to temporarily reroute flights of Air India and Air India Express overflying Iran has been taken,' says Dhananjay Kumar, Air India spokesperson. Indigo along with Air India will also reroute its flights that use Iranian airspace.The advisory came after Ukraine International Airlines B737-800 crashed near Tehran [on January 8, 2020]. The aircraft was operating flight PS752 from Tehran to Kyiv when it disappeared from radar a few minutes after departure at 0610 local time." "The civil aviation regulator on Saturday decided to ban Indian carriers from flying over the Iranian airspace, fearing an increase in hostilities between the U.S. and Iran and to ensure safety of passengers, crew and aircraft flying the route. The decision, which will impact Air India and IndiGo, comes a day after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) banned U.S. carriers from flying over the Iranian airspace, days after Iran shot down an unmanned U.S. spy drone. "Air India Express, the low-cost unit of the South Asian nation’s flag carrier, has put on hold a plan to fly to Tehran amid renewed tensions between the U.S. and Iran after President Donald Trump imposed fresh sanctions on the Persian Gulf country. Since some of Air India Ltd.’s plane purchases were funded by the Export-Import Bank of the United States, it won’t be able to fly to places where the U.S. government imposes sanctions, K. Shyamsundar, the airline’s chief executive officer, told Rishaad Salamat in a Bloomberg Television interview in Singapore on Tuesday. The carrier may now fly to Bahrain via Doha instead, he said." "Among the Irish leasing companies linked to possible Iranian deals has been Avalon, which is owned by China's Bohai Leasing. The Irish Times reported on February 11 that Avalon's chief commercial officer John Higgins had spoken about a recent trip to Iran when addressing an event held by the Ireland China Business Association a day earlier." "Irish leasing companies appear to be in a strong position to get involved in any contracts being negotiated. Ireland is one of the world's leading locations for aircraft leasing companies and, on February 11, the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran (CAOI) signed a cooperation agreement with the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), covering aircraft leasing, flight supervision and maintenance and repair among other areas... Iran Aseman Airlines is set to be one of the first to take advantage of that agreement. It is planning to lease seven Airbus A320neo aircraft and "the terms of this contract [with the IAA] will apply as soon as these aircrafts land in Iran after being registered in Ireland," according to the CAOI." "Iran and Ireland signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) early on Wednesday morning, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO.IRI) announced. The agreement, signed by CAO.IRI’s Mohammad Javad Taghvaei and the Irish Aviation Authority’s Ralph James is reportedly the first ever aviation agreement between the two countries." Representatives of French firms were in Tehran for a three-day visit ending Wednesday to offer solutions in the fields of aerospace maintenance and airport infrastructure, and explore business opportunities in talks with major Iranian airlines, suppliers and MRO companies. The mission included representatives of firms active in maintenance, repair and operations, manufacture of parts and equipment, airport security, aeronautics and ground support equipment, namely Aerotech Pro, Dedienne Aerospace, Laselec, LOGYX, PGA Electronic, Reel, Techman Head and Toulouse Air Spares. The mission visited officials of Iran Air, Aseman Airlines, Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, Iranian Aviation and Space Association, and Payam Cargo Airport and Special Economic Zone. "The Iranian delegation was in Canada to meet with officials at the International Civil Aviation Organization, which is headquartered in Montreal. Photos on Lahooti’s Instagram account show they also visited the International Air Transport Association and CAE Inc., a Montreal company that specializes in aviation, defence and security training and flight simulation products."
