UANI Statement On U.S. Indictment Of Hezbollah’s Samuel Salman El Reda

(New York, NY) – United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) Ambassador Mark D. Wallace released the following statement today after Wednesday’s indictment of Hezbollah’s Samuel Salman El Reda.

“UANI applauds the U.S. Justice Department’s indictment of Samuel Salman El Reda, a Hezbollah leader whose bloodstained record includes helping to plan and execute the bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish community center in 1994, killing 85 people. It was the deadliest antisemitic act of terror outside Israel since the Holocaust. Fast forward to 2023, we continue to mourn the murders of 1,200 people in Hamas’ attack in Israel on October 7—the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. El Reda’s indictment is a reminder that no matter how long it takes, terrorists will face U.S. justice.

“Beyond holding Hezbollah and Hamas accountable, the U.S government should also indict senior Iranian leaders for these crimes, particularly Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who approved the 1994 bombing in Argentina and scores of other acts of terror against U.S. citizens. Khamenei, along with his advisor Asghar Mir-Hejazi, participated in a special committee which greenlighted these operations. They too must face justice.”
