UANI Congratulates Narges Mohammadi on Winning the Nobel Peace Prize

(New York, N.Y.) — Today, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI)’s CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace released the following statement on the awarding of Narges Mohammadi with the Nobel Peace Prize:

"I want to congratulate the fearless Narges Mohammadi for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. After being repeatedly imprisoned and separated from her family, Narges' sacrifices have raised global awareness of the cause for freedom in Iran.

"Equally as important is the Nobel Committee's recognition of the brave people across Iran who are demonstrating in the name of 'Woman, Life, Freedom' in its awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize today. They seek regime change, not reform, and their struggle deserves global attention and support.

"As the Nobel Committee made its announcement today, another young Iranian woman, Armita Garavand, is fighting for her life in a hospital after reportedly being critically injured by hijab enforcement forces in the Tehran metro. It is time for the international community to support these brave Iranians not only in words, but in action."
