UANI Applauds U.S. House for Passing Nuclear Iran Prevention Act

New York, NY - United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) CEO, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, issued the following statement today regarding the U.S. House's passage of the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act (H.R. 850), introduced by Rep. Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Rep. Eliot Engel, the Committee's Ranking Member:

We applaud the U.S. House for its overwhelming, bipartisan vote to strengthen Iran sanctions. If passed into law, this legislation would impose a de-facto international blockade on Iran's oil exports, and put unprecedented pressure on the Iranian regime.

For quite some time, the biggest impediment to fully isolating Iran has been the willingness of China, India, and others to keep paying the regime for its oil. The House has now taken powerful action to stop this trade for good.

The Iranian regime's hostile policies have led to isolation and economic sanctions. The U.S. and international community are demonstrating that comprehensive pressure will only increase until the regime verifies it has changed course and ended its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
