"Iranian oil ministry will sue the German Company MAN for not fulfilling its commitment at Shazand refinery, Mehr news agency reported Monday. MAN had to deliver high tech equipments such as turbo compressors and train Iranian technicians adequately but none was done, Mehr cited Alireza Zeyghami, the MD of the National Iranian Oil Company for Refining and Distribution. Zeyghami stated the contract with MAN was signed before the sanctions were imposed on Iran adding the oil minister has consequently ordered to stop license contracts with European firms at refinery projects. In November 2017, Iran discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of air industries with Antonov company CEO. Iran and Antonov company have been cooperating in the production and operation of aircrafts for two decades.

In July 2008, the German Federal Office for Economics and Export Control (BAFA) concluded its year-long investigation into German engineering firm Steiner-Prematechnik-Gastec's plans to build equipment for three Iranian liquefied natural gas plants, according to The Jerusalem Post. A German government spokesman stated, "Because the equipment would be built here and then sent to Iran that work does not fall under any existing sanctions involving Iran." However, The Jerusalem Post later reported that the deal created tension between the German and Israeli governments.
