"MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Russian state company Rosgeo and the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in geological exploration during a meeting of the Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission in Moscow on Tuesday, the company said. Rosgeo and GSI plan to cooperate in geological exploration for hydrocarbons, solid mineral resources and underground water, including offshore seismic surveys in the Iranian part of the Caspian Sea. Rosgeo has also reached an agreement with the Iranian Mines and Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) on cooperation in geological exploration of solid mineral resources." "The president of the Russian Geological Society (RosGeo) said on Tuesday that the company is considering a plan to fund major oil, gas and ore projects in Iran. Russia's Rosgeo plans to work in different areas in Iran and is considering gas, oil, gold and ore projects, Chief Executive Officer Roman Panov told TASS in an interview on Tuesday. 'Geophysical exploration of gas fields in the South Caspian region and services of drilling technologies and enhanced oil recovery are considered in respect of hydrocarbons. We are viewing proposals on aerial geophysical studies of promising areas and prospecting of hardrock gold and lead and zinc ore in terms of solid mineral resources. We will also probably deal with research related to enhance gold recovery from refractory ore and assessment of salt deposits' reserves,' he said." "The Russian Helicopters Holding Company (part of Rostec State Corporation) together with Iran Helicopters Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC) will test the light utility helicopter Ka-226T for its usability at extremely high temperatures. The tests will be conducted on the Iranian company site within the framework of a memorandum signed by the parties in May 2017 at the international exhibition HeliRussia-2017. The Ka-226T has already arrived at Iran and started its first test flights." (August 9, 2017).

"Russian Helicopters and Iran’s Industrial Development & Renovation Organization (IDRO) have signed a memorandum of understand (MOU) for the assembly of the Russian Helicopters Ka-226 Ansat, the manufacturer said. "We recognize Iran's high demand for light-class helicopters for exploitation for the benefit of civilian agencies. The joint Russian-Iranian venture is considered the assembly of light helicopters Ka-226,” said Russian Helicopters General Director Andrew Boginsky. “The negotiations on this issue are continuing. "Despite objections from the United States, Moscow could be inching closer to a deal with Tehran whereby the Islamic Republic of Iran could obtain the advanced S-400 Triumf missile air defense system [which was developed and produced by Almaz-Antey]. Reuters: "Russian state arms producer Almaz-Antey said on Tuesday it would supply Iran with the advanced S-300 missile system once a commercial agreement is reached. The company's chief executive, Yan Novikov, confirmed Moscow had removed restrictions on deliveries to Tehran that were imposed under pressure from the West in 2010. He did not say when the deliveries might go ahead or how close a deal was. 'All restrictions have been lifted by the political authorities. When there is a contract, we will supply the system, including to Iran,' he told a news conference when asked whether Almaz-Antey would supply the missile system to Iran. President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in April ending the self-imposed ban on selling the S-300 system to Iran." "Moscow and Tehran are in talks on supplying Russian grains to Iran in exchange for oil, Andrey Gormakh, first deputy chief executive of Russia's state grain trader, United Grain Company, was quoted as saying on Tuesday. Russia and Iran have been discussing their oil-for-food deal since early 2014, but are yet to agree on details, highlighting the difficulties the two major energy producers face due to sanctions from the West. RIA news agency quoted Gormakh as saying that United Grain Company was ready to supply between 1 and 2 million tonnes of grain to Iran per year. That would be worth between $250 and $500 million, according to Reuters calculations based on the current price for Russian wheat. "Construction of the plant is estimated to cost €1.2bn, according to an agreement signed last year. Russia will finance 85% of the costs via an export loan from Moscow to Tehran, with a five-year tenor, while the remaining will be covered by Iran, reports Russian media outlet Sputnik.
