United Against Nuclear Iran Petition

The undersigned hereby recognize and acknowledge that the Iranian regime represents a grave threat to international peace and security. Furthermore the undersigned recognize that the Iranian regime brutalizes its own population and systematically stifles peaceful dissent and protest; leads the world in state sponsorship of terrorism, including through groups like Hezbollah and al-Qaeda; persecutes ethnic and religious minorities and is pursuing an illegal nuclear weapons program.

The undersigned also recognize that the Warwick New York Hotel, by choosing to host the Iranian delegation for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) for the second consecutive year, has accepted blood money from a regime that presents an overwhelming threat to global security. By turning a blind eye to the regime's flagrant violations of human rights, support for al-Qaeda and its commitment to an illegal nuclear weapons program, the Warwick facilitates Ahmadinejad's misuse of UNGA for the purposes of disseminating propaganda of an illegitimate, discriminatory, anti-Semitic and brutal dictatorship that flouts international law. Companies like the Warwick that do business with the Iranian regime provide an imprimatur of respectability and legitimacy at a time when the international community is attempting to increase the regime’s diplomatic, political and economic isolation.

Accordingly the undersigned:

  1. Denounce in the strongest possible terms the Warwick’s decision to host Ahmadinejad and the Iranian delegation and calls on all Americans to boycott all Warwick properties until that time that the Warwick acknowledges its irresponsible decision to accommodate Ahmadinejad and declares its intention to refuse future accommodation for members of the Iranian regime anywhere in the world.

  2. Denounce in the strongest possible terms the Iranian regime’s illegal nuclear weapons program, support for terrorism, systematic human rights violations and brutal repression of the Iranian people including persecution of religious and ethnic minorities, women, labor activists, and journalists as well as the Iranian regime’s persecution of citizens based on sexual orientation and;

  3. Demand that Iran immediately abandon its illegal nuclear weapon’s program and desist in its support of terrorism around the world and end the brutalization of the Iranian people and;

  4. Call on all hotels, companies, firms, entities and individuals to end their business and investments in Iran and cease providing any goods or services in Iran or with Iranian-based business anywhere in the world except for the provision of goods or services to relieve human suffering in Iran, as such business and investment undermine the effect of sanctions imposed by the international community in response to Iran’s illegal nuclear program and flagrant human rights violations.
