UANI Condemns Iran's Ballistic Missile Test

Latest Aggression by Tehran Violates U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231, Challenges Tenets of Nuclear Deal

New York, NY - Reports of a ballistic missile test by Iran on Sunday marks just the latest in an ongoing series of transgressions by the Iranian regime that defies the letter and the spirit of the nuclear deal.  Ballistic missile testing violates U.N. Resolution 2231, which was enacted in tandem with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).  Sunday's test marks the tenth such ballistic missile launch by Iran since nuclear deal talks began in July 2015.

"Iran's missile tests are an unacceptable act of aggression-something we have seen occur time and again for the last 18 months," said UANI CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace. "We cannot let repeated violations of U.N. resolutions go unchecked.  Iran is an ever-present, increasingly dangerous threat to global security and must be held to account for these actions."

United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), the non-partisan, not-for-profit global advocacy organization, has been tracking these missile tests which have occurred with growing frequency since the JCPOA was reached.  The organization continues to track these transgressions and overall development of Iran's ballistic missile program to highlight how Iran undercuts the nuclear deal to its advantage.
