New York, NY - "We applaud New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli's decision to divest $86.2 million in New York State Common Retirement Fund investments from nine companies doing business in Iran and Sudan. DiNapoli's action sends a clear message that it is time for government and private sector pension funds to stop investing in companies that do business with Iran. Companies - and their investors - that do business with Iran are directly supporting and strengthening a dangerous regime that is developing nuclear weapons, brutally repressing its own people and sponsoring terrorism. Again, we applaud Comptroller DiNapoli and the New York State Common Retirement Fund for taking this important stand and we hope they will become a partner in working toward UANI's goal of stopping Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons." - Ambassador Mark D. Wallace, President, United Against Nuclear Iran
